• Body temperature must be raised gradually. 
• Rapid rewarming, such as by hot bath or shower, can lead to dangerous heart rhythms. 
• To gradually rewarm the person, first move them to a warm place.
• Remove any wet clothing and dry them off.
• Help the person to put on dry clothing including a hat, gloves and socks. 
• Wrap the person in dry blankets and plastic sheeting, if available.
