Mouth-to-Nose Ventilations

If you are unable to create a complete seal around the patient’s mouth. Mouth-to-nose may be used.

  • Ensure the patient’s head is tilted back and lift the chin upwards to close the mouth.
  • Create a seal around the patient’s nose and breathe into the nose.
  • Ensure the patient’s mouth is open between ventilations for the air to escape.
